• Half of parents( 50 %) support reducing the school summer holiday by one week and moving it to another holiday elsewhere in the calendar. Only 21 % of parents oppose this

• Almost six in ten( 59 %) parents whose child has SEN support the change( 18 % oppose it)

• Ethnic minority parents are less likely to support the change than white parents. 45 % of them support and 27 % oppose

• 56 % of single parents support the change, only 17 % oppose it

• Mums are more likely to support the change than dads( 54 % vs. 47 %)

• 50 % of those who support the change say it would make arranging childcare easier- eqivalent to 25 % of all parents- 40 % say it would reduce their financial stress

• Among those who oppose the change, fewer than four in ten( 37 %) say it would make arranging childcare more difficult – this is 8 % of parents overall
