• More than a third( 35 %) of families have used holiday clubs or activities in the last 12 months
• 65 % of parents have not used a holiday club or activity in the last 12 months
• Almost half( 49 %) of primary school parents have used holiday clubs or activities in the past year, as have 49 % of ethnic minority parents and 49 % of parents whose child is at an independent school
• The richest families are twice as likely to have used holiday clubs than the poorest families( 57 % vs. 29 %)
• Parents in London( 57 %) and Northern Ireland( 44 %) are more likely to have used holiday clubs than parents from other parts of the UK
• Parents spend more than £ 350 million a year on holiday clubs and activities 1
• Parents using these clubs spend an average of £ 28.87 a day on holiday clubs and activities
• On average, parents are paying £ 93 for holiday clubs and activities each year
• One in ten( 11 %) of these parents pay more than £ 50 a day for these clubs
• Parents in London(£ 33.05) and the South East(£ 32.72) report paying considerably more on average for holiday clubs than parents in some other parts of the UK, such as the East Midlands(£ 21.43)
• Other parents paying higher than the average daily amount include parents with a child at an independent school(£ 35.22), the most affluent parents(£ 34.89) and ethnic minority parents(£ 31.05)
