• More than a fifth( 22 %) of working parents have taken unpaid leave to look after their children in the school holidays
• More than a quarter( 28 %) of parents of children with special educational needs have had to take unpaid leave to look after their children
• A third( 33 %) of the youngest parents( 18 to 34) have had to take unpaid leave to look after their children
• More than a third( 37 %) of parents in the poorest households have taken unpaid leave to look after their children in the holidays
• A third( 33 %) of single parents have had to take unpaid leave to look after their children, as have a third( 33 %) of disabled parents, nearly three in ten( 29 %) ethnic minority parents and 29 % of independent school parents
• 27 % of London parents and 26 % of parents in the West Midlands have taken unpaid leave to look after their children in the school holidays
