• More than four in ten( 42 %) parents find school holidays stressful, 37 % do not
• More than half( 51 %) of primary school parents find school holidays stressful
• Almost half( 48 %) of parents of children with special educational needs( SEN) find the school holidays stressful. Three in ten( 31 %) say they are not stressful
• 47 % of disabled parents and 46 % of single parents find the school holidays stressful
• 46 % of parents in the North East and South East find holidays stressful, the regions most likely to say this
• 46 % of parents with a household income of less than £ 35,000 find the school holidays stressful
• More than half( 51 %)- equivalent to five million parents- find the school holidays financially difficult. Only 27 % disagree
• Mums are more likely than dads to say the school holidays are financially difficult( 57 % vs. 46 %)
• Seven in ten( 70 %) of the poorest households find the school holidays financially difficult. So do two thirds( 67 %) of families between £ 20,000 and £ 35,000 income
• This compares to less than a third( 32 %) of the richest households
• Two thirds( 67 %) of single parents find school holidays financially difficult( compared to 48 % of others)
• 55 % of parents in the East and West Midlands find school holidays financially difficult, the regions where parents are most likely to do so
