• When asked what needs were not being met and why, the biggest responses included a lack of adequate support( both one-to-one and other support), severe delays in assessment and diagnosis, sensory and environment challenges, emotional and mental health needs neglected, and too rigid‘ one-size-fits-all’ school culture
• Four in ten( 43 %) parents of a child with special educational needs say it has been difficult to get the support their child needs to learn effectively at school
• 74 % of parents with household incomes over £ 100,000 have found it easy to get the support they need for their child ' s special educational needs, compared to just 45 % of parents with household incomes under £ 50,000
• Dads with a child with special educational needs are much more optimistic than mums about the extent to which their child ' s needs are being met, four in ten( 42 %) mums with a child with special educational needs say their child ' s needs are not met compared to just 26 % of dads
