Safety at school
Crime and safety
Schools should be a place of safety, but almost one million children feel unsafe at school.
Children from the poorest homes and children with special educational needs are twice as likely to feel unsafe at school than children from the highest income households or those who don ' t have special educational needs.
About half of children who feel unsafe at school fear bullies, according to their parents, and a third fear being physically attacked.
