Moving to secondary school is a big moment for children and their independence.
According to parents:
• 11-year-olds are twice as likely to be allowed to go to the park with friends than ten-yearolds( 68 % vs 33 %)
• 11-year-olds are four times more likely to be allowed to go to the nearest town with friends than ten-year-olds( 31 % vs 7 %)
• 11-year-olds are 11 times more likely to be allowed to travel on public transport than ten-year-olds( 33 % vs 3 %)
• 11-year-olds are four times more likely to be allowed to go shopping on their own than ten-year-olds( 39 % vs 9 %)
